Program Eligibility

US Foods employees in the following roles are eligible to participate in Points of Focus: Territory Manager, District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, other positions responsible for locally-managed customer sales with specific assigned routes, and managers with direct reports who are eligible for and enrolled in Points of Focus.

In addition to being in a Points of Focus-eligible role, employees must also (1) complete 91 days of continuous employment with US Foods, (2) activate their Points of Focus account online at www.usfoods.com/pointsoffocus, (3) acknowledge and accept the program Terms & Conditions, and (4) execute a Non-Solicitation and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NSNDA).
Should you transfer to a different Points of Focus-eligible role (e.g. Territory Manager to District Sales Manager), your new job code will automatically be identified and your points calculation will be changed accordingly within 10 business days of the role change.

Should you transfer to a role that is not eligible to participate in Points of Focus, your accumulated unvested points will vest at the end of the period in which the eligibility change occurred—regardless of point balance—and the net amount will be credited to your account. You will have 90 days following your transfer date to redeem any vested points in your account. Following this 90-day period, any unredeemed points will expire.

Earning Points

In order to earn points, you must be in a Points of Focus-eligible role and (1) complete 91 days of continuous employment with US Foods, (2) activate your Points of Focus account online at www.usfoods.com/pointsoffocus, (3) acknowledge and accept the program Terms & Conditions, and (4) execute a Non-Solicitation and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NSNDA).

Territory Managers earn points on the sale of Points of Focus-eligible products to eligible account types. District Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers earn points based on the average points accumulated by their Points of Focus-eligible and enrolled direct reports.
  • EB Everyday: TMs earn 4 points for every case sold of EB products and an additional 4 points for every case sold over the same quarter the previous year. Example: if a TM sold 1,000 cases of EB in Q2-2024 with their current book of business, then sold 1,100 cases in Q2-2025, they would earn 4 points on 1,100 cases sold and an additional 4 points on the 100 incremental cases for a grand total of 4,800 points.
  • EB Quarterly Category Focus: TMs earn 3 points for every case sold in specific designated categories (e.g. Dairy, COP Beef, Disposables). Categories change quarterly and each category is treated separately.
  • New Customer Cases: TMs earn 4 points for every case sold to new customers for the first 12 months after their "born-on" date.
DSMs and RSMs earn an average of the points earned by their assigned TMs for qualified sales. For example, if a DSM/RSM has three assigned TMs that earn 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 points for their previous week’s qualified sales, they would earn 2,000 gross points.
You can view your accumulated unvested points—your gross points prior to tax deductions and withholdings—in your personalized “POF Statement” available on the Points of Focus Reports page. Your statement is updated weekly to reflect your previous week’s qualified sales activity.

Your vested point balance—your net points available after taxes and withholdings—is displayed in the top-left corner of your account as “Vested Points” after signing in. Vested points can be redeemed for cash that is loaded onto your Points of Focus prepaid debit card.

For example, if a District Sales Manager has three assigned Territory Managers that earn 1,000, 2,000, and 3,000 points for their previous week’s qualified sales, he/she would earn 2,000 gross points. Upon vesting, at a conversion rate of $.0009, these points would be valued at $1.80.

Bonus points are additional points awarded for the sale of a specific brand or product during a US Foods sales promotion. Click here to view a list of current promotions and bonus point opportunities available in your market.
Recognition points are points awarded for sales and non-sales activities that are otherwise not incentivized for as a part of the Points of Focus program. Recognition points are eligible to vest at the end of the period in which they are awarded.
Each week, points are calculated based on your previous week’s qualified sales and the eligible exclusive brands, manufacturer brands, and bonus point programs in place at the time of sale. While accumulated points are issued to your account weekly, those points are not available to redeem until they vest per the vesting rules of the program. Participants on leave are not eligible to accumulate points.
Points accumulated weekly from your qualified exclusive brands sales, manufacturer brands sales, and any applicable bonus point programs vest at the end of each fiscal quarter. US Foods fiscal quarters end on the last day of periods 3, 6, 9, and 12. Recognition points vest at the end of the period in which they were awarded to you.

The accumulated points of employees who transfer to a role that is not eligible to participate in Points of Focus or those whose employment with US Foods is terminated for any reason will vest at the end of the period in which the eligibility change occurred—regardless of point balance.

Please view Sections 5-11 of the Terms & Conditions for additional details on the program’s vesting rules.
All accumulated points are considered supplemental wages and are thus subject to applicable wage deductions and withholdings, including federal, state, and local income taxes. In order to facilitate these withholdings, accumulated points are reported to US Foods payroll where they are converted to dollars at a rate of $.01 per point. Gross accumulated points are then reduced by your applicable withholdings, and the net amount is credited to your Points of Focus account as a redeemable currency. These are your vested points. Following each vesting period, US Foods will provide you with a separate Points of Focus wage statement that details the converted dollar value of your gross accumulated points, any applicable taxes or garnishments that were withheld, and the net amount that was vested and credited to your account.
Accumulated unvested points do not have a cash value. Points vest at a conversion rate of $.01 per point (for example, 10,000 = $100).

Redeeming Points

Vested points can be redeemed for cash that is loaded onto your Points of Focus prepaid debit card. Debit cards are automatically issued to newly-eligible employees within 10 business days of activating their account.
Points can be redeemed any time after they have vested, and the net amount has been credited to your account. Vested points do not expire for active employees in a Points of Focus-eligible role.

Should you transfer to a role that is not eligible to participate in Points of Focus or should your employment with US Foods be terminated for any reason, you will have 90 days from the date of transfer or termination to redeem any vested points before they expire. No adjustments will be made to payroll earnings should your vested points not be redeemed.
As long as you remain an active employee in a Points of Focus-eligible role, your accumulated unvested and vested points will never expire.

Should your employment with US Foods be terminated for any reason, your accumulated unvested points will vest at the end of the period in which the eligibility change occurred—regardless of point balance—and the net amount will be issued to you in the form of a check. You will have 90 days following your termination date to redeem any vested points in your account. Following this 90-day period, any unredeemed points will expire.

US Foods has the right to modify these rules for any participant on an individual basis. Please view the program’s Terms & Conditions for additional details.
